We are excited to announce that we will be holding our very popular Raw Night next on Tuesday, October 7. The Green Owl Cafe's raw chef will prepare a prix fixe 5-course meal. The menu will celebrate the Fall harvest and feature lots of delicious local vegetables.
The menu for October 7 is:
Salad: Kale Waldorf Salad--local organic kale, massaged and topped with a creamy salad of chopped local apples, celery and walnuts
Soup: Watermelon Gazpazcho--sweet and savory soup made with local watermelon, heirloom tomatoes and cilantro
Small plate: Heirloom Tomato Napoleons--a rainbow array of heirloom tomato slices, stacked with a red pepper relish and herbed cream nut cheese, drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar
Entree: Butternut lasagna--layers of summer squash filled with a creamy butternut squash layer, walnut "sausage", spinach, tomatoes, and pesto
Dessert: Classic Carrot Cake--in a raw style, made with local carrots and apples, perfectly spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, with a cashew cream cheese frosting
